Students engaged in research, scholarly work, or creative projects are invited to present a poster and share their work with the SIU community. The forum provides an opportunity for faculty, staff, students, and the public to explore innovative projects from a wide variety of fields.
The event is sponsored by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Dean of the Graduate School and supported by the Graduate Student Professional Council and Sigma Xi.
Honoring Excellence in Research
We are proud to announce that the following presenters have been selected to showcase their work at two prestigious upcoming events: the Board of Trustees Meeting (April 16, 2026) and the Illinois Junior Academy of Science State Fair (April 24, 2026).

2027 Forum Details
Date: Thursday, April 8, 2027
Location: Student Center, Art Alley (2nd Floor)
Format: In-person
Poster Sessions
Session 1: 9:35–10:50 a.m.
Session 2: 11:00 a.m.–12:15 p.m.
Presenter Check-In
Session 1: begins at 8:30 a.m.
Session 2: begins at 10:15 a.m.
The poster session is free and open to the public.
2027 Awards Ceremony 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Following the forum, an Awards Ceremony will be held in Old Main at the Student Center.
During the ceremony:
- The Vice Chancellor for Research will deliver remarks.
- REACH Award winners will be announced.
- Awards will be presented for Best Poster Presentation in both Undergraduate and Graduate categories.
